Dog-proof your kids and kid-proof your dogs, that’s the main idea here. Many accidents and tragedies can be avoided by simply being prepared and taking care.

Start your dog off right, give him or her what they deserve, put a smile on their face with the best Dog Supplies that is available at Doggy Dog Supplies. You will find Dog Clothes and Dog Beds that are the best designs and best looking on the internet.

First, you should never leave your dog chained and unattended. Most of the guard dogs suffer personality quirks when tied and many become downright aggressive. You are better off by keeping them in fences which creates a barrier between them and the world. This also keeps them somewhat safe from the children. Many times dogs equate high-pitched sounds of children with sounds of distress of prey animals and may react by biting the child.

Second, the child should be taught how to behave around dogs, even if the family does not own any dogs. A child should never go near a strange dog and should always ask the owner whether it is ok to pat it. If a child sees a loose dog on the road he should never go near it, even though he may know who it belongs to he should not approach it and should tell someone about the dog. The child should never scream or run away for these actions can result in an attack by the dog. When it sees the child running the brain tells it to chase the child. The dog here is reacting to chemical stimulus, not rational thought, it can be very difficult to divert its attention.

Many dogs even though they may be trained don’t see children as figures of authority. Children sometimes stare at dogs; the dog may feel threatened and attack the child.

If the child is granted permission to go near the dog the child should present a closed fist, protecting his or her fingers. Children should never hug dogs that don’t belong to them, even if it is theirs they should hug it gently and should check if the dog is ok with it or not. Children should never hit dogs, they should leave the dog alone when it’s sleeping, eating or ill and should never tease as they might bite if you tease them beyond their endurance level.

Dog owners should also take up responsibilities to avoid attacks. They should socialize their puppies with small children, so as to make the dog become more tolerant.

The sight of a child and dog napping together or playing is priceless but one should understand the relationship between them. Both should be taught and trained to respect and love each other.

Your dog’s nails, just like human nail, need to be trimmed. Unfortunately, some dogs don’t like to have their feet touched, much less their nails trimmed. If you have trouble performing this action yourself, consider making an appointment with your vet or groomer. If your dog will allow you touch his nails, you can trim them at home. When left untrimmed, they can grow into the dog’s feet, break, and bleed.

Quick Note: Get your dog the best Dog Clothes and put a smile on their faces. If your doggy deserves to look as great as they are then give them their own Dog Dress and Dog Coats and show them that you really care about them.

Once you’ve been granted access to your dog’s nails, the trick is not to cause any pain. This means avoiding the quick which can cause both pain and bleeding. Study the nail before you begin. It’s easier to see in clear or white nails, but the quick is just above the excess nail that you want to remove. Remember, you don’t want to go too short. You just want to remove the excess.

Begin with some nail trimmers made especially for dogs and some styptic powder like Kwik-Stop or CutStop. These products will help stop the bleeding if you accidentally cut the quick. Next, find a comfortable position for both you and the dog. You may put the dog in your lap or you may both lie on the floor. If your dog isn’t too sure about the process, you may need someone to help hold the dog. Next, hold the dog’s paw in your hand and push on his pad so that the nail extends.

Once the nail is extended, cut the nail at a 45 degree angle. Make sure you’re cutting below the quick. If you can’t see the quick because the nail is dark, it’s better to make a couple of small cuts than one big, painful one. If you see a dark spot appear at the end of the cut nail, you’ve done your job. The spot is the beginning of the quick.

If your dog has brittle nails that splinter when you cut them, you may have to file them a few times to remove cracks and smooth the nail. If your dog will let you, do all four paws including the dew claw. If he won’t, don’t force it. Take a break and come back later. If you do happen to trim into the quick, apply the styptic powder to stop the bleeding.

Finally, remember this should be a pleasant activity. If your dog can’t stand it, take him for walks on pavement and asphalt. This will work as an emery board and naturally file his nails.

Bathing The Dog

The rules on how often you should bathe your dog are different from one dog to the next. Various breeds as well as various types of coats determine how often the dog should be given a bath. For example, the Poodle should be bathed every four or six weeks. On the other hand, the Pointer can go three or four months between baths. Other breeds which have harsh long coats, such as the Pomeranian, Samoyed, and the Norwegian Elkhound require less frequent bathing because it tends to soften the coat. However, dogs that are kept in the house most of the time have to be bathed more frequently to keep them clean.

Bathing the dog is important in order to keep the coat and skin clean and healthy. The coat should always be brushed thoroughly before the bath. This will help to remove all dead hair and all mats from the coats of long-haired dogs.

The next step is to prepare the materials you are going to use before the bath. The following is a list of supplies you will need:

1. Shampoo (regular or special shampoos for conditioning, color, coat, etc.)

2. Bristle Brush

3. Sponge

4. Rubber Tub Mat

5. Two Thick Bath-size Towels

6. Chain and Choke (to secure dog)

7. Spray Hose

8. Cream Rinse (long-haired breeds with the exception of the Poodle and Terriers).

Always remember to secure your dog safely in the tub. A chain and choke is necessary for this, giving the dog about a foot and a half of slack. This will make sure that the dog cannot jump from the tub and injure himself.

Using a spray hose, wet the coat thoroughly with warm water. Next, apply the shampoo to the dog’s coat with a sponge, paying special attention to the ears, rectum area, and pads of the feet. These three areas are usually neglected by most groomers when bathing the dog. A small bristle brush may be used to scrub the head, ears, pads of the feet, and other extremely dirty areas of the coat. When the coat is thoroughly soaped and scrubbed, rinse it with warm water. When rinsing, place the thumb over the ear opening to keep water out of the ears. Also keep a hand over the eyes to prevent any soap from getting into them. Since every dog should have a double bath, repeat the soaping and rinsing process. On the last rinse be sure to get all of the soap out of the coat. Gently squeeze the hair on the legs, tail, ears, and all parts of the dog’s body with your hands to remove excess water. You must first towel dry before using a dryer.

As well as providing your pet dog a balanced diet and a cosy home to stay in, grooming too is an important feature to rearing your pet at home. And, it is also important to ensuring the continued well being of your pet. Therefore, it is necessary that you fully understand what it takes to provide proper dog grooming health training.

The first aspect that requires your consideration is that proper dog grooming health training can best be achieved by hiring a professional groomer to look after your pet. And though this may appear to be a bit extravagant, it may still be the best option if you don’t want to take the responsibility yourself.

Only Use Dog Shampoos
Secondly, you must avoid bathing your pet with your own favorite shampoo because your dog’s hair will only benefit from a bath if you use a dog shampoo. This is particularly important to know as a shampoo developed for people will be far too strong for your dog. Therefore, you must only use a shampoo that has been formulated to work on dogs.

Proper dog grooming can also require that you use a conditioner for your pet. Conditioners actually do a lot of good though they should be of a tear free variety to ensure that, should it get into the pet’s eyes, it won’t get hurt them.

In addition, you should regularly cut your dog’s hair. Using special dog grooming scissors will help you maintain its hair at a proper length.

Lastly, you may also have to trim your is often best achieved by having a vet or one of his staff do it for you.

Only with the proper kind of dog grooming can you ensure that your pet feels and looks good.

Furthermore, it is essential that you note down any changes in your dog’s behavior and to also be aware of the symptoms of any changes that have recently taken place in your dog’s behavior.

Grooming the dog and ensuring his health must be a top priority and these can only be achieved if you have the required knowledge and you also give your dog the appropriate dog grooming health training, as well as giving it proper medications, whenever required.

You must also watch for common symptoms that show that your pet is feeling unwell and among such symptoms you can include choking, trembling and also breathing heavily. So, if you sense that there is a problem with your pet’s health, you must immediately take him to a vet and then give him the recommended medications so you are able to nip the problem in the bud.

And another aspect of caring for a dog is to ensure they are properly house trained.

In other cases, you will require to purchase a heavy duty guillotine-style or lopper-style nail trimming device to keep your dog’s nails healthy and groomed.

Okay I‚m curious but when you have to cut your animal‚s nails, do you do it yourself? Or do you go out and spend money to have it done? Okay, so let‚s say you do it yourself. Do you ever get nervous, what happens if you hurt your animal? Well let‚s say you get it done, how much money do you spend to have it done. If you really think about it, it only takes a few moments, right? Personally I hate having to cut my dog‚s nails. Why? Because he‚s 16 and no he doesn‚t freak out, but his nails are extremely tough. It‚s hard to try and cut right through them. Sure I could bring him in somewhere, but he gets nervous, he‚s an old man. What we need to find are the perfect pair of Peticure Dog Nail Clippers.

Click Here Now To Check Out PediPaws

I‚m sure all of us are familiar with peticure dog nail clippers. You know the kinds, the ones that you can either slip your animal‚s nail through the small hole and then set up the nail right, hope your animal doesn‚t move soon you can cut the nail. Or there are the other types of clippers that remind me of pliers. Just put your animal‚s nail in there and cut it off. Have you noticed something about these clippers? Well I‚m sure many of us have either, cut too far back that we cut the quick and our animal begins to bleed, or we have broken more nails then we can count. This hurts our animal and it‚s not fun for us either.

We need some sort of clipper that‚s going to help file our animal‚s nail back. Not try to cut it or break it off. No I want something that files. The reason why is because it will be easier on your animal, plus there will be no more bleeding and no more breaking. Oh and did I mention how much nicer our floors and furniture will look? Oh that‚s right. Think about it. File the nail down so it‚s rounded off and smooth, no more sharp tips digging into our floors.

Doesn‚t that sound better? A pair of Peticure Dog Nail Clippers that not only help us when we are trying to cut our animal‚s nails but are easier on our animal‚s too. I personally think that sounds fantastic and since my dog is 16, I‚m sure he would like it better too. Any animal would.

Once your dog is completely brushed, combed, and tangle-free, he is now ready for his bath.  This means that it is time for you to take out all the necessary equipment and supplies so that you can easily reach what you need when you need it.  If you put that dog in the bathtub under running water and then have to go in search of shampoo or a scrub brush, we all know what could happen: a jump, a shake, and you will be a left with a soaked bathroom and a wet dog running around the house.

You will need some basic supplies to wash your dog.  These include: Shampoo; conditioner; sponge; scrub brush; small scrub brush or soft-bristled nail brush to clean the face; bath mat; hand-held sprayer or a large plastic cup for rinsing; plastic or rubber apron for you or any clothes that can get wet such as a bathing suit; nylon collar and leash if you think your dog is likely to bolt or will be difficult to hang on to in the bath; one or two thick towel.  Assemble your supplies and then place them within easy reach of the sink or tub where you will bathe your dog.

If your dog gets into a really unpleasant odor, such as an encounter with a skunk or a roll in a dead animal’s remains, you may have to take some extra measures. Many pet stores sell de-skunking preparations, or you may try an old-fashioned remedy: Pour a few cans of tomato juice over the coat and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse well and repeat if necessary.  One thing about this process is that it can turn white coats to pink.  You can also mix a quart of hydrogen peroxide, a quarter-cup baking soda, and a dash of shampoo.  Multiple shampooing may also be necessary.

In addition to a bath, you need to give your dog’s eyes, ears, teeth, and rear a good cleaning.  These areas of your dog’s body all require proper hygiene, maintenance, and attention.  Neglected eyes, ears, teeth, and rears can all become unpleasant and even infected, so do your dog a favor and keep these areas well maintained.  You could save a lot of money on vet care, not to mention avoiding pain and suffering for your pet.  The following is a list of tools and products that you will need for this part of the monthly grooming session:
1.  Moisturizing eye drops for dogs with dry eyes or canine eyewash
2.  Tear-stain remover (for light-colored dogs, if tear stains are a problem)
3.  Ear hair tweezers and/or small scissors
4.  Ear powder
5.  Ear wash or mineral oil
6.  Toothbrush or a piece of gauze big enough to wrap around your finger
7.  Toothpaste for dogs
8.  Small spray bottle
9.  Dental sealer for heavy plaque deposits
10. Heavy gauze for emptying anal glands if necessary
11. Cotton balls and cotton swabs
