Be mindful of your dog’s behavior if there is a skin allergy because dogs are likely to scratch until their skin is raw causing a hot spot, which can lead to severe infections. A bad dog digging habit can be very trying on your nerves. After all, just because you own a dog, it doesn’t mean that you don’t want to enjoy your garden or have a yard that is free of holes. Unfortunately, some dogs seem to feel that all yards should have as many craters as the moon!

Try to take action at some point before the dog digging requires you to be locked up in a mental institution. You might have reached the point where you feel you’ve simply tried everything and you’re at the end of your rope. However, there is certain to be a few techniques left that you’ve yet to try to become successful.

3. When your dog does stop the barking, make sure to be generous with the praise. Use treats, scratches, and kind words to show how pleased you are with his or her behavior.

4. Decrease the energy level – barking is often a response to too much unused energy. Keep your pup exercised to stop dog barking caused by restlessness.

5. Avoid boredom – not having anything to do is one of the primary causes of barking. Play with him or her and provide toys so that when you’re not there or you can’t play, then he or she can keep him or herself occupied.

6. Make your actions predictable by keeping a regular schedule so that he or she knows when to expect daily events. Set a certain time for your dog’s feedings, walks, playtime, and even bedtime.
