One of my favorite TV shows is called Stargate and I must admit I really do enjoy it. It has as its basic premise that aliens use humans as hosts for themselves. While controlling their mind they are a highly advanced alien race that resembles a snake and inhabits the bodies of humanoids. In one episode a friendly alien is removed from its host and is dying. They try to replicate its surroundings inside of a human but it still continues to die. One of the doctors is reminded that a human being has a small electrical current going through the body continuously, just as it seems that all hope is lost; kind of like a built in perpetual microcurrent therapy. When the doctors placed a tiny electric charge in the alien’s artificial environment it gradually came back to life. Horse Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation

Electrotherapy, or, microcurrent therapy has been used for at least two thousand years. In fact, to help cure such things as gout and headaches a Roman Doctor named Scribonius Largus in 46 AD recommended to his patients that they should stand on top of a live torpedo fish. Torpedo fish can give off a powerful electric shock to stun their prey. Also recommending the electric fish as an appropriate medical therapy was a physician named Claudius Galen In the second century.

To fight every thing from depression to anxiety; headaches and many other disorders including back aches and spinal injuries Low intensity CES has been used for centuries all over the world. Why shouldn’t our pets benefit from this science with so much history and research and success with microcurrent therapy?

I came across a website when I was researching a problem I was having with my cat. A lady named Ava Frick is seeing enormous results using CES on household pets and horses. By the proper use and placement of microcurrent therapy implements she’s seeing depression, anxiety, pain, and many other problems which plague the animals we love and adore fade away. She’s an outstanding expert in the fields of pet and animal pain, anxiety, and depression.

I know that some of you may be thinking of that device that my mother-in-law purchased in order to stop her dog from barking. It was a device that went around his neck and whenever he barked the collar would emit an enormous electric shock that would terrify the dog into submission. That is not what I’m talking about when writing about microcurrent therapy. I feel I must make that point crystal clear. That kind of electric shock therapy really should be outlawed and is torturous in my opinion. To provide happiness and joy to your beloved animals microcurrent therapy is designed to relieve pain and suffering. Don’t allow yourselves to be tricked by what the two devices seem to have in common. There really are none. Ava Frick uses state of the art technology in a highly controlled environment to ensure your animal is in the best environment to enable healing and relief. Animal Chiropractic

Many pet owners today are not aware that their dogs are also prone to developing UTI (urinary tract infection). UTI is not necessarily harmful to dogs during early stages. However, if the infection is left alone for too long, it could cause a more severe infection in dogs affecting their major organs like kidneys. Statistics have shown that approximately 14% of the worldwide dog population will acquire urinary tract infection.

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI’s) are extremely common, and many pet owners aren’t educated in how to prevent them and because of this, let me help you down on taking preventive measures for your dogs.

1. Bathe your dog regularly. Hygiene is one of the most important preventive measures when preventing all forms of infection for our pets. Have your dogs take bath on a regular basis.

2. Give your dogs ample amounts of water daily. Make sure that your dog gets sufficient fluid intake. Fluids are helpful for maintaining homeostasis in your pet’s body. Moreover, encouraging your dogs to have an ample amount of water daily will also promote flushing of bacteria during urination.

3. Encourage bladder habits. You should take your dog out few hours daily and allow them to urinate regularly. This will prevent the buildup of bacteria in the bladder, the common site of UTI.

Signs and Symptoms
• Pain while urination or even crying while urinating
• Frequent licking of genitals
• Recurrent urination without passing much urine
• Urinating in odd places
• Hazy or bloody urine
• Fever and loss of appetite

Urinary infections in dogs are bacterial in nature. It’s important to see a veterinarian for proper treatment. Veterinarians would prescribe antibiotics for your pet. So make sure that you adhere to the treatment as prescribed by your veterinarian in order to prevent possible recurrence of infection and further complications.

Another way of ensuring your dogs health is by providing them a clean backyard and allowing playtime. For my backyard and gardening needs, I use my favorite John Deeree lawn mower parts and buy John Deeree lawn mower parts at my favorite store. They really meet my dogs expectation as well as mine for a clean and well-trimmed and green backyard.

African mammals from the horse family, zebras owe their world fame for the black and white

stripes on their bodies that represent the very label of their individuality. The African landscape remains unique thanks to these

magnificent animals that remain an attraction point for any tourist to Africa.Click

over here for additional information relating to lion tattoo designs.

There are three major species of zebras, the mountain zebras, the plains zebras and the Grevy’s

each with specific features and behaviors additional to the common traits. There are large parts of Kenya where Grevy’s or imperial zebras

coexist with plain zebras for instance; they are the most similar to their horse relatives unlike

the mountain subspecies that resembles asses most.

Though limited to the African continent, zebras

are adapted to a very wide range of habitats from

savannas and grasslands to mountains,

hills and woodlands. Presently, the number of zebras roaming in the wild is definitely

smaller than a century ago since

the development of human civilization has had its impact on the zebra population, not to mention

that for quite a while they were abusively hunted for their skins. You

should get more valuable information relating to lion tattoo designs

here.

The striped patters

that zebras are famous for, represent an ID mark of each individual as the specimens recognize each

other visually. Moreover, zebras can get well camouflaged against lions thanks to the same stripy

skin. The stripes look just like waving grass

particularly when the zebras live in herds, and lions have

great difficulty spotting them because of their monochromatic view.

Zebras have great eyesight, and scientists believe that they have a visual acuity

that makes them able to distinguish colors. Moreover, night vision is one other

remarkable skill together with a great sense of hearing. This complex alert system enables

the animals to turn their ears in all directions sensing danger in no time, and last but not least, unlike many other mammals the smell and

taste are truly remarkable as well.
You can get lots of supplemental valuable information

relating to tiger tattoos here.

As for food preferences, zebras don’t get to starve as

they are very adaptable grazers, feeding on herbs, twigs, trees bark, shrubs or leaves. Another anatomical advantage is the capacity of the zebras to live on small amounts of

nutrients, which means that any grass is good as long as it is not toxic.

The mating habits of the zebras vary from one

subspecies to another: some live in permanent groups of several mares and a stallion, while other only

gather in herds temporarily for the mating season. The mating cycle occurs once a year for females and they usually give birth to one foal only.

Some of the best reared and superbly cared pets also fall a prey to the condition called as the heartworm disease, which sometimes affects even the most robust dogs. It is imperative that you give special attention to the health of your dog and ensure that the canine does not get this disease by ensuring that your pet is given regular doses of the Heartgard plus.

Heartgard Plus for dogs

These pills are very popular and it is one of the most well known brands of heartworm tablets with most of the vets recommending these tablets for dogs, as they really guard the dogs from diseases.

Many of the oral medicines which are given to pet dogs are either mixed with the dog food or are given to the pet in the form of a tonic, but Heartgard plus is available in a form which is relished by the dogs and the dogs love eating it. The chewable medicine tabs contain beef, which is suitable for almost all dogs, however it would not be suitable for dogs with sensitivities to beef.

If your dog cannot handle beef adequately, then there are ordinary tablets available.

Heartgard tablets contain Ivermectin which is given to farm animals so as to protect them from parasites, and dogs positively respond to these tablets.

However, the amount of Ivermectin present in the medicine is minimal, which means that it will only eliminate heartworm larvae. The heartgard plus tablets does not actually put a stop to the larval heartworms, but it prevents infection from spreading and also prevents them from multiplying further, thereby reducing further health problems.

The working method of the tablets is pretty simple meaning, it does not stop your canine from attracting the heartworms, but actually eliminates all the existing larvae which has got mixed in your pet’s bloodstream.

Heartgard plus medicines need to be taken by your canine, every month religiously and strictly, so that the larvae does not keep multiplying.

Heartgard medicines are recommended by most of the vets since they help in wiping out the accumulated larvae as compared to the Ivermectin tablets which becomes weaker in power as the larvae grows and matures inside.

Pyrantel prevents parasites from multiplying in the canine’s body and hence it is included in Heartguard plus chewable tablets.

Pyrantel is very effective in getting rid of hookworms and roundworms and thus serves its part well in de-worming. These medicines are ideal to wipe out both the intestinal worms as well as heartworms together.

The disease does not affect the ticks but affects other mammals like dogs due to the toxin secreted by the ticks. The dog experiences a feeling of immense weakness in the muscles upon being bitten by the tick and becomes almost paralytic.

It is not as if all dogs or mammals are affected by this toxin from ticks, only some dogs are actually affected and some only suffer from paralysis of their hind limbs. It has been observed that since the effect of the poison injected by the tick works differently on different mammals, certain mammals tend to even die since their respiratory muscles weaken and they are not able to breathe.

By knowing about the different kind of paralysis that is caused by the ticks in different mammals, you can prevent things from becoming worse by quickly taking out the ticks and casting them away.

This article will help you protect your pooch from any dangerous situation caused due to ticks.

Symptoms of Tick Paralysis

Usually the signs will start 5-7 days after the tick has actually bit your dog, but it will usually take a few tick bites simultaneously in order for paralysis to actually begin occurring. The tell tale signs are that your pet will appear much weaker and will have difficulty moving his hind legs.

Dogs can also exhibit difficulty when swallowing, breathing, and chewing, but there will be no signs of a fever or regular illness symptoms aside from these. Due to these problems like difficulty in breathing, respiratory malfunction can occur causing the death of your pet and it is thus imperative for you to take cognisance of these symptoms and take remedial action at the earliest.

Findings

Most often, paralysis is diagnosed based on the symptoms, and also if your dog has a rapidly worsening condition. It also can depend on the seasons of the year, but rapid recovery occurs the instance that the ticks are removed.

Though it may be easy to find out if your pet is paralytic from the way he behaves, it is important for you to constantly check for any ticks to play safe.

Treatments

One effective method of treatment is to pick all the ticks from the body and throw them away.

You may have a hard time finding all of the ticks, or the tick, if your dog has a lot of fur, because ticks normally burrow into the skin, which means you may have to shave your dog for the time being, before they cause serious harm to your pooch..

Generally, the dog will recover quickly once the ticks are removed, but in some cases, you may have to consult the veterinarian.

You can also administer an antitoxin injection to your pet to enable him to get well soon.

Is your dog or cat immune to the threat of the Paralysis Tick ? Unfortunately, if you live in a paralysis tick area, the answer is probably no. Dogs and cats can be a perfect host for paralysis ticks. Paralysis ticks can attach to your pet, often when wandering through bushy areas, thick grass or vegetation.

How bad for your pets are paralysis ticks?
In one word - very. Once they’ve found their way onto an animal’s fur, paralysis ticks can quickly reach the skin and attach themselves. When they’ve latched on, they suck blood and also secrete a nasty toxin. If the tick is left undetected on your pet, its toxin can be very dangerous – even fatal.

Some of the symptoms related to the tick toxin include:
• Loss of coordination in the hind legs
• A change in the voice or bark, or coughing
• Loss of appetite, vomiting, retching and regurgitation
• Noisy grunting and breathing
• Excessive drooling
• Anxiety, hypersensitivity and distress
• Progressive paralysis

You may also be able to see red and raised skin around where the tick has attached itself or a ‘tick crater’ may appear.

How long does it take for tick symptoms to appear?
In many cases signs of a paralysis tick won’t appear until the tick has been attached on your pet for several days. Not all of the above-listed symptoms may be noticeable, and some of them are often confused with other pet illnesses. Unfortunately, this means some owners put off taking their pet to the veterinary clinic.

What can I do if my pet has a tick?
The first thing is to remove the tick and contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. The veterinarian will assess your pet and then treat for tick toxicity if required.

Symptoms can take a while to show and unfortunately delay in removing the tick or treating the toxicity can result in your pet’s death. As always, prevention is better than cure. If you find a tick on your pet, don’t forget to continue searching for more.

How can I help protect my pet from paralysis ticks?

1. Avoid the tick habitat. Ask your veterinarian for advice if you are living in or planning to travel to a paralysis tick area. Paralysis ticks are generally found on the eastern seaboard of Australia, but can be found in slightly different areas and at different times every year.

2. Thoroughly check your pet’s skin and coat every day during the paralysis tick season - even if you’re using a tick control product. Feel and look for unusual lumps, and if you find a tick, remove it straight away and call your veterinarian.

3. Use a tick control product. If you have a dog use Frontline PLUS® every 2 weeks. For cats, use FRONTLINE® SPRAY every 3 weeks. Always remember to read the label instructions. To remind you when a treatment is due, you can sign up for free email and SMS reminders at www.frontlineplus.com.au.

Horse joint pain is something I never actually thought about. I have a horse Semper and never really thought about him getting sick or experiencing pain. When my beautiful pet Semper seemed to be aching, I had no clue where to begin. Fortunately I came across the Animal Fitness Center website of Dr. Ava Frick. I found out that all animals can get sick just like humans. If I hadn’t brought my equine friend to the doctor on time, his joint problems would have exacerbated and I would really not forgive myself for being so insensitive to his pain.Horse Pain Relief

Ava Frick explained that horse joint pain is actually pretty common once they become over 15 years in age. Just like us, their tendons can wear down and ache in cold weather. I have had Semper since I was 14 and am realizing that he is growing old too and experiencing horse arthritis and stiffness and swelling. I had not noticed that he was in so much pain and had been suffering for quite some time already. I still let him endure hours of practice and even burden him with too much physical activity as I ride him to go around our farm every day.

Equine joint pain is usually treated with medications and drugs. I know that pain medication and drugs can be harmful to my horse’s organs. I really just wanted to make sure Semper was treated with alternatives to medication. Good thing Dr. Ava Frick also supports different types of therapy and pain management programs that are all natural. Another thing I liked about Animal Fitness Center is their holistic approach to easing discomfort and pain of animals. They are not only concerned about eradicating pain using gadgets and devices, but they are also concerned of the proper nutrition needed to hasten the recuperation of the problems and diseases of the animals in their clinic. I was truly relieved to see how my horse was cared for during his stay at the Animal Fitness Center.

I really appreciate the Animal Pain Relief care that Dr. Ava Frick was able to provide for my horse. Treating an animal’s condition in this matter targets the actual problem and doesn’t just mask the symptoms. Medication can treat horse joint pain but it doesn’t treat the problem just the pain felt from it. Aside from massage therapy, my horse was also subjected to PST Vet (Pulsed Signal Therapy), which is a non invasive type of pain management that not only helps alleviate pain but also boosts the functionality of problematic areas. Within a few weeks of care at Ava Frick’s Animal Fitness Center, Semper showed great improvement.Pet Arthritis

No matter how patient you are with your pet animals, there are times when the things they do can really make you cry and feel helpless as they display symptoms of Equine Arthritis or anxiety. Last year my loving Chihuahua passed away and I became depressed. What my friends did to alleviate the sadness that I was feeling was buy me a new Chihuahua. When I saw my new Chihuahua I really did feel a little better from losing Fritzy. At least, I had a new companion that I can care for again. Since I had Fritzy for a long time, I never really knew how to deal with a new dog. Although I tried my best to make Dolly feel at home, she was really impossible. Soon after trying so hard with Dolly my relief turned into anxiety. Regardless of what I tried to do for her she kept showing aggression and had very skittish behavior. Even after I potty trained her she still kept going in her kennel and in my house.Canine Chiropractic

It was great that I found Midwest Microcurrent in a forum for pet anxiety. I found out Dolly was experiencing animal depression and anxiety according to Dr. Ava Frick. I know that not being active can cause depression because I saw it in the end of Fritzy’s life, but I did not know that other signs consisted of things Dolly was showing, like aggression, fear and going in the house. Who would have thought that animals, no matter how much you try to care for them, can also feel alone and depressed?

I like Dr. Ava Frick’s holistic alternatives to dealing with pet anxiety or animal depression. I was scared she would put Dolly on medication to keep her calm. Dr. Ava Frick suggested using her Alpha-Stim Stress Control System instead of medication for Dolly. I kid you not but n less than one hour Dolly was less aggressive. She looked so calm and happy.

I was informed that one treatment would not cure Dolly of her pet anxiety. I could not quit my job to continue Dolly’s treatments but was happy to find out that I can bring Midwest Microcurrent’s Alpha-Stim SCS treatments home. Since it is so easy to use I have been able to treat Dolly’s depression right at home. Dolly’s depression and misbehavior seemed to clear up in just a few weeks of treatment. She has not had any rashes since and has become friendly with everyone.Canine Chiropractic

Sometimes it is hard these days to select a pet food brand that fits your pets lifestyle. The varieties are endless not to mention the mind boggling labels that can lead you to believe the wrong thing. If you know how pet food labels work, you can make a more educated buying decision the next time you shop for pet food .

Pet food labels have an information panel and a main display panel. The main display panel contains the brand name and product manufacturer. The name of the product and its ingredients are governed by the Association of American Feed Control Officials, or AAFCO.

It is crucial to focus on how things are worded on pet food labels. If the product name includes things such as ‘beef platter’, ‘beef entree’, ‘beef dinner’, etc. it only has to contain 10% beef. However, if it is worded as ‘beef’, it must contain 70% beef. If a label reads with beef it must only have a 3% beef content and believe it or not the words beef flavor means the product must only contain less than 1% of beef!

Do not just rely on the name of a pet food because that can mislead you. Always check the food container for a clearance statement from the AAFCO stating the food has passed their standards.

The second part of the pet food label is the information panel, which must include statement of ingredients and an analysis of guarantee. This analysis contains percentages of crude fat, protein, fiber and moisture in the food. While the percentages are listed, this still does not tell you the quality of the crude fats, proteins, etc. The ingredients should also be listed in descending order by weight.

Before you think about changing your pets diet, pay special attention to your pets coat, eyes and his behavior. If he looks healthy, you may not want to upset his system by changing his food. Any pet nutritional information or concerns can be answered by a qualified veterinarian based on your specific pets needs.

Many pet owners become consumed with what to feed their pet and fail to consider how they feed their pet. elevated dog bowls are considered an excellent choice, especially for larger breeds. There are several dog bowls and cat bowls to make a selection from, it is up to you to pick the proper feeder for your pet but keep in mind to stay away from plastic containers. Plastic bowls tend to keep the germs around to make for a hazardous eating situation for your pet. Many pet owners opt for having two sets of pet feeding bowls to make sure that one set is always clean. It is so tempting to just keep reusing the same bowl without washing but do not fall into this trap, your pet’s health may depend on it. Look into pet supplies online for a wide selection and free shipping.
